The benefits of using exocet®’s Anti-Wax fuel additive
exocet®’s Anti-Wax is a fuel additive for diesel and gas oil that has been formulated to improve your fuel’s performance during cold weather.
Diesel and gas oil contain long chain hydrocarbon molecules that can crystallise during cold weather causing blocked filters and fuel lines.
Used as a preventative measure only, anti-wax inhibits the formation of wax crystals and should be applied in advance of when temperatures are expected to drop.
Benefits of using anti-wax:
- Boosts the fuel’s resistance to waxing
- Allows operation at colder temperatures than the fuel specification
- Inhibits the formation of wax crystals
- Reduces the potential for filter plugging
- Works with maximum allowable FAME contents
Usage:
When summer grade fuel is being stored and used into the winter season, or a proportion of summer grade fuel is present in storage tanks, exocet® Anti-Wax will bring the whole tank to winter grade. exocet® Anti-Wax should only be used as a preventative measure and will not work if the fuel is already waxed, so it is important to prepare your fuel early.
Tips for usage:
exocet® Anti-Wax is typically added at the rate of 1 litre of additive to 1,000 litres of fuel and good mixing or tank re-circulation is recommended. Fuel-specific tests need to be carried out if a minimum operability temperature is required.
Last winter was a particularly bad winter, don’t get caught out – prepare your fuel early from the end of September!
